Nature Based Therapy

You may remember days spent outside as a kid never wanting to come inside. Perhaps you were the child who stared out the window and got lost in the intricacies of the leaves on a tree or how the branch hung in just such a way. The longing to connect with nature is innate. Most young kids yearn for or are pulled to be outside. Unfortunately this yearning and strong desire to be with nature can easily get lost in our busy lives filled with screens and activities.

My passion lies in helping you return to the connection to nature you may have lost and to help foster the one you still hold. Connecting with nature is therapeutic and healing. I strive to incorporate intentional connection with nature into our sessions when possible and promote it in between sessions as well. Because this connection to nature is so vital to our mental health, I studied Applied Ecopsychology which helped me gain the skills to bring you into this intentional nature connection. I might encourage you to utilize time in nature as a coping skill to manage anxiety, anger, parental overwhelm and/or the intensity of being a highly sensitive person.
