You might find life to be overstimulating, constant, bright, noisy, overwhelming, intense, loud or too much. Perhaps you suffer from or are inspired by all these words just described. If you are easily overwhelmed by too much stimuli, need a lot of downtime, are a deep thinker, highly empathetic, deeply moved by beauty, and have strong emotions and feelings, you may have a highly sensitive personality.
I specialize in working with this personality, and I myself have a highly sensitive personality. I thought I had settled well into acceptance and understanding of this personality a few years after I found this out about myself (and trust me, all the pieces finally fit together at that moment). Then I become a parent to two kids and that upped the ante big time. I’ve learned to re-embrace the part of me which shows up in the world with all my senses firing on high and deeply feeling the world. It’s why I also love to do the work of understanding yourself as a highly sensitive person with both those newly finding out they have this personality and those with a highly sensitive personality who are new parents. We work on understanding yourself so you can put your pieces of the puzzle together and grant yourself compassion in an overstimulating world.
